Considering Hiring a Personal Trainer?

If this is your first time considering hiring a Personal Trainer? Then I’m sure you will want to know exactly how it works before making any decisions. To help you, I have listed below some of the things that you can expect when hiring me.

Consultation.

Your journey starts with a FREE 30-minute consultation to discuss your health and fitness aims, your experience of exercise and your current lifestyle. I’ll also answer your questions and explain how structured training & nutrition programmes will help you to become fitter, healthier and stronger.

Assessment.

The next step is your fitness assessment to determine essential baseline measurements and discuss your fitness goals. Measurements taken include weight, BMI, blood pressure, fat percentage, flexibility and strength. You will also complete a health questionnaire, a consent form and a trainer/client agreement form. You may also be provided with a food diary to complete so that dietary analysis can be done. A personalised training programme is then created for you.

The Training Programme.

Your training programme is tailored to your aims and will guide you step-by-step to achieving your specific goals. Goals may include; endurance, muscle strength, muscle size flexibility and weight-loss. Your programme will usually include a combination of cardiovascular (CV) exercise, resistance training (using body-weight or equipment) and nutrition guidance. You will also be provided with suggested exercises that you can do by yourself at home.

Your Training Sessions.

Each training session will be pre-prepared by me to ensure no time is wasted. During each session, I will provide clear verbal instruction and demonstrate each exercise for you to ensure that the exercise is carried out safely and provides you with maximum benefit. I will motivate and encourage you throughout. The results of your training sessions are documented in great detail and then any adaptations required can be made to future sessions. This ensures that you are always progressing towards your goals. The sessions can be completed either here at our studio, at your home, the park or at a gym.

Choice of One-to-One, Couples or Small Groups

Many of my clients choose one-to-one sessions for their training, however, some like to team up with a family member or with a friend or two for their sessions. Having a workout partner, or friends, to workout with can be fun and you can support each other, too.

Regular Re-Assessments

To monitor your progress and keep you on track regular re-assessments are completed. This is also an opportunity to celebrate your wins. Any adaptations to your programme can also be made where required.

Support

Follow a training programme by yourself can be very hard indeed, and, unfortunately, all too easy to miss out a session here and there. When hiring me as your personal trainer you can count on me supporting you every step of the way. I will work with you to help you achieve your goals. As well as the guidance, encouragement and motivation during your sessions, you will receive unlimited, ongoing support and contact throughout your programme.
